Pune, November 2018 – On a Monday morning a prominent name from the Poonawalla family, Mr. Yohan Poonawalla presented a new Mahindra Jeep to the Pune Police. Mr. Yohan Poonawalla handed over the keys to the Pune Police Commissioner, Dr. K Venkatesham in an exclusive gathering today at the Poonawalla Group Headquarters in Hadapsar, Pune.

During the event, Mr. Yohan Poonawalla recalled the tragic episode of 26/11 – “Incidentally today is the anniversary of the infamous 26/11 tragedy.  We all are aware of the incredible bravery the Police Force displayed during the crises and their selfless efforts in keeping our city safe.  It will always be my pleasure to support the force in whichever way I can”.  He further advises, “It is imperative that the Police Force and the Citizens work jointly to help make the city safe and peaceful. I would suggest other business houses in Poona to come forward and do their bit to enhance the efficacy of the system”.

Pune Police Commissioner Dr. Venkatesham acknowledged Mr. Poonawalla’s generous approach and civic concerns and added – “More mobility means more service and hence there is a requirement of more resources.  There is a difference between good service and prompt service. With more such basic infrastructure added to the force, both promptness and proactiveness would be achieved”.

This is not for the first time that Mr. Yohan Poonawalla has extended his support to the Pune Police. “We will continue to support the force and look forward for more such associations in the near future” said Mr. Poonawalla.
