Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday addressed the nation’s youth through a digital skills conclave on the occasion of World Youth Skills Day. He encouraged the youth to upgrade and adopt the skills required with the changing business and market scenario. He also stated that the current global environment belongs to the youth due to their flexibility of acquiring new skills making the “Skill India” mission successful.
The mission launched five years ago has created an infrastructure of skilling, reskilling and upskilling and, creating job opportunities across the world. Many Kaushal Kendras have been created in the country creating a vast ITI ecosystem. It has skilled more than five crore youth of the nation.
The PM said that with the recent launch of the online portal for mapping skilled manpower, it would help the skilled workers and migrant workers to access jobs easily, and the employers can contact them in a single click.
The World Youth Skills Day was held in the online platform due to the coronavirus outbreak and social distancing.
