The Government of India on Wednesday announced to extend the lockdown in the nation till August 31 with relaxations. Gyms, malls remain open in the non-containment zones. Restrictions of movements at night have been removed. These new guidelines have been implemented with the feedback received from States and the Union Territories.

Gyms and Yoga institutes to open from August 5 with the Standard Operating Procedures by ensuring proper social distancing. Independence day to be celebrated practicing proper safety measures and other protocols. Educational institutions to remain closed till August 31. 

Lockdown is to be strictly maintained in the containment zones till August 31. These zones are instructed to be very careful to prevent the spreading of coronavirus. Only essential services are allowed to operate within the containment zones. Activities in these hotspots are to be strictly monitored by the State and Union Territories authorities. 

The use of Arogya Setu mobile application is encouraged to continue.
