The Ministry of Information and Technology on Wednesday announced to ban PUBG and other 117 mobile applications. PUBG MOBILE Nordic Map: Livik, PUBG MOBILE LITE, WeChat Work & WeChat reading are among the 118 banned mobile apps.

Many complains were received by the ministry including some reports which stated the transmission of users data in an unauthorized manner to other servers in abroad through these mobile applications.It has been banned under Section 69A of the Information Technology Act, as they are engaged in activities which poses a threat to national security of the country.

This decision has been taken to ensure proper safety, security of Indian cyberspace, the officials said. It would provide a safety to the interests of mobile and internet users in the country.
